Some marinas charge 1.3-1.5x monohull rate. Most Cyclades anchorages are anchorage-only anyway, so this is rarely a real cost driver.

The catamaran earns its place here specifically because of the draft: Cyclades anchorages are shallow and often crowded, and sitting in 1.5 metres puts you inside bays that monohulls of the same length have to watch from further out. Expect five or six islands rather than eight, because the point of the week is the swimming, not the mileage.

For most groups here, yes, and the reason is the Meltemi rather than the boat. The Cyclades gets a short steep chop from late June to early September, and a catamaran barely rolls in it, at anchor or under way. Add deck space that runs the full width of the vessel rather than down a corridor, and a week spent mostly at anchor becomes a different holiday. A monohull is still the better answer if the group cares about the classic silhouette, or if you are chartering outside the windy months.
