MELITI, Gigreca, Aizu: the Ionian is sailing water
Two weeks are two weeks on the same rate card, one price per yacht per week. In the shoulder months the second week is sometimes softened by the owner; it is asked for, never assumed. On top: VAT at 5.2 to 12% by the yacht's certification, APA of 20 to 30% on a catamaran or 30 to 40% on a motor yacht for the fortnight, a customary 10 to 15% crew gratuity on the base, and the yacht's return to Corfu on the delivery line if the charter ends at Lefkada.

- Day 1
Embark Corfu · Agni Bay
Board in Corfu Town and run up the north-east coast to Agni, 5 to 10 metres over sand with excellent shelter and three waterfront tavernas in one small bay. No passage on the first evening.
- Day 2
Kassiopi
A short hop to Kassiopi, 6 to 12 metres over sand, deeply protected from every direction, the castle ruins above the village. In settled weather the morning goes to Erikoussa, twelve miles north-west, 6 to 12 metres over sand and one village.

Paxos · Lakka, 35 miles
The longest leg of the first week, south to Paxos in the morning calm. Lakka is 3 to 4 metres over sand, sheltered from everything but northerlies, the village a tender's length away.

Antipaxos · Voutoumi, overnight Gaios
Voutoumi, 5 to 10 metres over sand, and Vrika, 4 to 8, for the day in settled weather; the night in Port Gaios, 6 to 8 metres in the channel behind St Nicholas island.

Paxos · Mongonisi
A no-passage day: Mongonisi, 3 to 6 metres over mud with good shelter, the quiet southern bay, and Gaios again for dinner.

Lefkada · Vlicho Bay, 50 miles
The one long leg, 50 miles south, done early: about two hours on a motor yacht at 25 knots, a full morning on a catamaran. Vlicho Bay is 5 to 7 metres over mud with excellent holding and protection from every direction, the safest anchorage in the Ionian; Nidri next door has full services and fuel.

Meganisi · Atheni
Across the channel to Meganisi. Atheni on the north-east coast, 5 to 6 metres over sand, good in all but a strong north-easterly, quay for ten to twelve yachts or a line ashore off the beach; Vathi for the tavernas.

Kalamos · Port Kalamos
The green, quiet island of the inner Ionian. Port Kalamos, 2.5 to 4 metres over mud and weed with good holding, room for about thirty yachts, good in all but an easterly; Port Leone, the abandoned village, 6 to 7 metres with a line ashore, for the swim.

Ithaca · Vathy, 20 miles from Lefkada
Vathy, 3.5 to 4 metres at the quay or the anchorage off the town with good holding; the Aetos coves on the same coast, around 10 metres over sand and weed with excellent holding, for the swim and the quiet night.

Kefalonia · Fiskardo, 10 miles
Fiskardo, 8 to 15 metres over sand and weed with all-round shelter, the prettiest harbour on Kefalonia and crowded in August, a second anchoring attempt often helping. Kioni on Ithaca, sheltered from all but the rare east-south-easterly, is the alternative.

Kefalonia · Argostoli or Sami
Down the coast: Sami Bay, 10 to 20 metres with good holding, sheltered from north to west, the gateway to the Melissani and Drogarati caves; or Argostoli outer bay, 8 to 15 metres over mud with very good holding, the capital for provisioning.
- Day 12
Zakynthos · Navagio in the morning, 35 miles
South to Zakynthos early. Navagio is a fair-weather morning anchorage, left as soon as the wind picks up; Porto Vromi on the same coast, 10 to 15 metres, takes a mooring buoy or a tripline over a foul bottom. The night in the port of Zakynthos, the best shelter on the island, minding the Dimitris reef.
- Day 13
Kefalonia · Fiskardo, 35 miles
Back north in the morning to Fiskardo or Argostoli, the last Kefalonia night, the caves or the capital for the party that missed them.
- Day 14
Lefkada · Sivota, 25 miles, disembark Nidri
The final run to Lefkada. Sivota, 5 to 10 metres over mud in a well-sheltered inlet, the taverna night, katabatic gusts after dark expected; disembark at Nidri on the morning of day fifteen. The yacht returns to Corfu on the delivery line, or the whole fortnight loops from Lefkada instead.

About this charter type
Is 2 weeks too much yacht?
Not in the Ionian. Corfu to Zakynthos is about 150 nautical miles along the chain on our distance table with seven islands and the Diapontia in between, and the anchorages above are all different: sand in three metres at Lakka, mud in five at Vlicho, the caldera-like shelter of Fiskardo. One week is the compressed version, Corfu and Paxos or Lefkada and Ithaca; two weeks is the whole chain with a rest day where you want it.
How much does a two-week Ionian charter cost?
Two weeks of the same rate card, per yacht per week before VAT and APA: ARIVA EUR 34,000 to 48,000 a week from her own card; on the Greek Charter Index 2026 a 16 to 19 metre sailing catamaran EUR 18,900 to 48,000, a 20 to 22 metre EUR 31,500 to 43,500, a 26 to 31 metre motor yacht EUR 35,900 to 75,000, a 24 to 31 metre sailing yacht EUR 24,000 to 55,000. Add VAT at 5.2 to 12% by certification, APA of 20 to 30% on a catamaran or 30 to 40% on a motor yacht, a customary 10 to 15% crew gratuity on the base, and the delivery back to Corfu if the charter ends at Lefkada.
Can we split: 1 week Ionian, 1 week Cyclades?
Possible, and it costs the passage: the yacht moves from the Ionian round the Peloponnese to the Saronic or the Cyclades, quoted per yacht on the delivery line, and the days it takes are days of your week. The clean version is one sea per charter and the other next year, or a fortnight from Athens that does the Saronic and the western Cyclades without a delivery at all.
What about provisioning over 14 days?
The chef re-provisions at Nidri on Lefkada, which has full services and fuel, or at Argostoli on Kefalonia, and fresh fish comes from the villages along the way. Wine and spirits are stocked on the initial APA and topped up mid-charter; the APA is reconciled at the end, and on a catamaran it runs 20 to 30% of the base.
Catamaran or motor yacht for two weeks in the Ionian?
The catamaran for the bays: Lakka, Mongonisi and Port Kalamos are three to four metres, and a catamaran lies in them where a motor yacht anchors outside; its APA over a fortnight is 20 to 30% of the base against 30 to 40%. The motor yacht for the 50 mile leg and the interior volume. ARIVA, a power catamaran based in Corfu, is the compromise the Ionian was built for.
Corfu to Lefkada one way, or a loop?
One way south is the natural shape, because Corfu to Lefkada is 80 miles and the return would cost the last two days; the yacht goes home on the delivery line. A loop from Lefkada, north to Paxos and back, or south to Kefalonia and Zakynthos and back, avoids the delivery and drops Corfu. Both are the same rate card; we write whichever fits the flights.
When is the best time for two weeks in the Ionian?
June and September, when the bays are quiet and the shoulder months price 15 to 25% below peak on the Greek Charter Index with three to four months of lead time rather than a year. July and August are the crowds at Fiskardo and Gaios, never the wind: the Meltemi does not reach here.
How far ahead should we book a two-week Ionian charter?
Six to twelve months for July and August, three to four for the shoulder, and earlier than a one-week party because a fortnight blocks two of the owner's weeks. On this desk, 26 of the 57 dated enquiries received between 30 May and 6 September 2026 were already for 2027.
