The Index band for the Athens to Mykonos run
The arithmetic: a Mykonos embark is the base plus a delivery each way, quoted per yacht on the delivery line; an Athens embark is the base, a first night at Kea, and Mykonos on day two. Every rate above is per yacht per week before VAT (5.2 to 12% by certification), APA (30 to 40% of the base on a motor yacht, and the long run is the fuel) and a customary 10 to 15% crew gratuity on the base.

- Day 1
Alimos · Kea, 35 miles
Board at Alimos in the afternoon and run 35 miles to Kea. Vourkari, inside Agios Nikolaos bay, is one of the safest natural harbours in the Mediterranean; it is deep, the crew lay at least 40 metres of chain, and in summer the quieter berth is to anchor out in the large bay rather than among the permanent moorings. Dinner ashore on the waterfront.

Kea · Syros · Mykonos, 25 miles at the end
On a fast hull, Kea to Mykonos in the morning: Kythnos 15 miles, Syros 25 more, Mykonos 25 more, with a swim at Kolona on Kythnos, the double bay in 3 to 10 metres, on the way. On a displacement yacht, the night at Finikas on Syros, 3 to 6 metres over sand and the best Meltemi shelter on the island, and Mykonos on the morning of day three.

Mykonos · Ornos and Psarou
Ornos, 6 to 12 metres over sand with excellent shelter from the north, for the nights; Psarou, 8 to 15 metres, for Nammos and the beach service to the yacht; the town for the evening from either. Delos by tender in visiting hours, the yacht lying off in 10 to 18 metres.

Mykonos · Delos and the south coast
The morning at Delos before the ferries; the afternoon at Paradise or Super Paradise, 10 to 18 metres over sand with excellent shelter from the north, for the beach clubs, or Kalafati on the east coast, 6 to 10 metres and the best Meltemi shelter on the island, for the party that wants none of it.

Paros · Naoussa or Parikia, 30 miles
Thirty miles south to Paros. Naoussa, 8 to 15 metres over sand, is the prettiest village in the Cyclades but open to the Meltemi; on a windy day the yacht lies at Parikia on the Meltemi-protected west side and the party drives ten minutes to Naoussa for Mario's or Barbarossa.

Antiparos · Despotiko channel and Soros, 5 miles
The Despotiko channel, 4 to 9 metres over sand with excellent holding, one of the most protected anchorages in the southern Cyclades in a northerly; Soros on the south of Antiparos, 6 to 12 metres, sheltered from every direction, the clearest water of the week. Kolymbithres on Paros, 4 to 8 metres among the boulders, for the swim on the way.

Paros · Alimos, 95 miles
The long run home, 95 miles on the house table, done in the morning calm: about four hours on ALFA at 24 knots, under three on ONE, eight on a displacement yacht, which breaks it at Kythnos Kolona for the night and finishes on the morning of day eight. Disembark at Alimos.

Is it cheaper to embark in Athens or Mykonos?
Athens, usually. Most of the yachts we represent are based around Athens, so an Alimos start costs the base rate and nothing else; a Mykonos start adds the yacht's delivery each way, quoted per yacht on the delivery line. Some owners waive it for a Mykonos start in the shoulder months, and we tell you when they do. The weekly rate card itself does not change with the port.
Can I fly into Mykonos and join the yacht there?
Yes. The yacht positions to Mykonos and you board at Ornos or in the new port on day one, which saves the Athens night and the first passage; the delivery to Mykonos is quoted per yacht on the delivery line. For a party that lands in Athens, Kea on the first night and Mykonos on day two is the same week with the delivery saved.
What about a Mykonos return at the end of the charter?
Possible. The charter ends in Mykonos and the party flies out; the yacht's return to Athens is then quoted on the delivery line, the same logic as a Mykonos start. A one-way week Athens to Mykonos is the version most parties choose when the flights home leave from the island.
How long is the Athens to Mykonos passage by yacht?
Ninety nautical miles from Alimos on the house distance table. Under three hours on ONE, a Pershing 90 cruising at 33 knots; about three hours forty-five on ALFA, MARY, SEA U or M FIVE at 23 to 25 knots; about four and a half on PAREAKI II at 21; about seven and a half on a displacement yacht such as NORTHWIND II at 12. The fast hulls do it in a morning; the displacement hulls break it at Kea or Syros.
How much does a yacht charter from Athens to Mykonos cost?
Per yacht per week before VAT and APA, from each yacht's own rate card: MARY EUR 17,500 to 19,900, SEA U EUR 21,000 to 24,000, ALFA EUR 29,900 to 31,500, M FIVE EUR 31,000 to 33,000, SEAS THE DAY EUR 36,500 to 44,000, NAYLA EUR 39,500 to 47,500, ONE EUR 45,000 to 49,000, and for twelve guests PAREAKI II EUR 98,000 to 115,000. Add VAT at 5.2 to 12% by certification, APA of 30 to 40% of the base, at the top of that range because the run is long, and a customary 10 to 15% crew gratuity on the base.
Where does the yacht stop between Athens and Mykonos?
Kea first, 35 miles out: Vourkari, one of the safest natural harbours in the Mediterranean. Then Kythnos, 15 miles on, with Kolona, the double bay, in 3 to 10 metres, or Loutra, the port with the best Meltemi protection on the island. Then Syros, 25 miles, with Finikas on the south-west coast in 3 to 6 metres over sand. Mykonos is 25 miles from Syros. A fast hull does the whole chain in a morning; a displacement hull takes two.
Is the Meltemi a problem on the Athens to Mykonos run?
It is the reason the run is done in the morning. The Meltemi builds through the central Cyclades in the afternoon, and the Mykonos to Tinos channel gusts hard in it, so the fast hulls leave Alimos or Kea early and are anchored at Ornos, in the lee, by lunch. A displacement yacht keeps to the stepping stones and Finikas on Syros is the bolt-hole. Bigger and more powerful hulls carry the afternoon sea better, which is why the boats that end up in the Cyclades in August sit higher in the Index.
How far ahead should I book an Athens to Mykonos week?
Six to twelve months for July and August on the Greek Charter Index, three to four months for the shoulder, and 15 to 25% below peak on the same rate card in May, June and September. On this desk, Athens departures were the most common request of the 2026 season and 26 of the 57 dated enquiries received between 30 May and 6 September were already for 2027.
