PAREAKI II, KINTARO, CAN'T REMEMBER for a large party
The five-night Saronic week is the shortest programme this house writes, priced per yacht per week from the rate card, one price whatever the party. On top: VAT at 5.2 to 12% by the yacht's certification, APA of 30 to 40% of the base on a motor yacht, lower here than in the Cyclades because the passages are short, and a customary 10 to 15% crew gratuity on the base.

- Day 1
Alimos · Aegina, 18 miles
Board at Alimos in the afternoon and run 18 miles to Aegina: the town harbour for provisioning and the evening, or Perdika in the south, a small village harbour with good shelter, or Souvala on the north coast, 3 to 4 metres over sand and quieter than town.
- Day 2
Aegina · Poros, 18 miles
Poros in the afternoon. Bisti on the north coast has almost all-round shelter, open only narrowly to the north-east; Russian Bay behind Daskalio islet takes a line to the rocks. The town is a short tender ride, and the strait in front of it is the Saronic's evening promenade.

Poros · Hydra, 12 miles
Twelve miles to the car-free island. Swim at Vlychos, 8 to 15 metres over sand and weed, two miles west of town, then stern-to in Hydra Town harbour on the mooring chains laid by the harbour authority. Dinner at Sunset or Omilos, the walk along the harbour front afterwards.

Hydra · Bisti and Mandraki
A no-passage day on the island: Bisti on the west, 10 to 18 metres over sand with excellent shelter from the north and a family-run taverna on the beach, the 45 minute walk back to town for those who want it; Mandraki to the east, 6 to 12 metres, the closest beach anchorage to the harbour.

Hydra · Spetses, 25 miles
Twenty-five miles west to Spetses. Zogeria for the swim, clear water surrounded by pines; the night in Baltiza, the old port, at or north of the Panagia Armata pier, the crew having confirmed depths on the chart. Bouboulina's house and the harbour restaurants ashore.

Spetses · Dokos, 25 miles
Back east past Hydra to Plakes on Dokos, five miles west of Hydra: 6 to 12 metres over sand, excellent shelter from every direction, one small chapel, no taverna, no other lights. The Saronic's most isolated anchorage for the last night.
- Day 7
Dokos · Alimos, about 35 miles
The run home in the morning, roughly 35 miles, with a last swim off the Aponisos islets south-west of Aegina, all-round shelter among the islets, if the party wants one. Disembark at Alimos in the afternoon. The five-night version drops the Hydra rest day and the Dokos night.

Saronic or Cyclades for a first Greek charter?
Saronic for a first charter from Athens, a party that would rather not meet the Meltemi, or a five-night week: the islands are 12 to 25 miles apart and the anchorages are sheltered. Cyclades for the iconic landscapes, a full week or two, and a yacht of 26 metres and more that carries the afternoon wind. The same yacht carries the same rate card to either.
How long is Athens to Hydra by motor yacht?
Alimos to Hydra is 35 nautical miles on our distance table: about ninety minutes on MARY, SEA YA or M FIVE at 23 to 24 knots, just over an hour on ONE at 33, and about three hours on a displacement yacht at 12. Which is why the Saronic week wastes no daylight on passages.
Does the Meltemi reach the Saronic?
Softened. The Saronic sits in the lee of the Peloponnese, so the summer north wind arrives lighter than in the central Cyclades, and every anchorage in the week above has a lee: Vlychos and Bisti on Hydra from the north, Poros Bisti almost all round, Dokos Plakes from every direction. In a strong blow the captain moves to the sheltered side, and the passages are short enough to do it in an hour.
Is October still good for the Saronic?
Excellent. The water stays warm through mid-October, the restaurants are open and the harbours are quiet, and on the Greek Charter Index the shoulder months price 15 to 25% below peak with three to four months of lead time rather than a year. The Saronic in late September and October is the value week of the Greek year.
Which motor yacht for a family of eight in the Saronic?
MARY or M FIVE: four cabins for eight, 23 to 24 knots, EUR 17,500 to 47,500 a week. For a family of six, SEA YA at three cabins or SEA U at four. For twelve, the 35 to 40 metre class, PAREAKI II, KINTARO or CAN'T REMEMBER, each from its own rate card and each on our large-groups list.
How far ahead should I book a Saronic week?
Six to twelve months for July and August on the Greek Charter Index, three to four months for May, June, September and October. Because the yachts are already in Athens, the Saronic is also the week that can embark within days at short notice when a hull is free; a quarter of the enquiries this desk logged between 30 May and 6 September 2026 asked to embark within about three weeks.
