Standard short-notice path: enquiry, yacht options within 24 hours, contract within 72 hours, deposit and APA in one wire within 7 days, embark two weeks out. Compressed: contract and deposit the same week and embarkation the same week, if the yacht is free and the owner's office accepts compressed terms. No. A last-minute week is priced from the same rate card as any other; what changes is the choice. In peak the yacht you wanted may be gone and the one that is free is the one that is free. In the shoulder months an owner with an empty week will sometimes come down to the low end of the band, and that is where the last-minute value sits.

Honestly, we do not know until we ask, because we hold our own quotations, not the calendars of the Greek fleet. The Meltemi blows hardest through the central Cyclades on August afternoons and favours larger, faster, more powerful yachts; a catamaran or a smaller motor yacht booked last-minute for August is better used in the Saronic, in the lee of the Peloponnese, where the same rate card buys a calmer week. If the Cyclades are the point, we look for a 26 to 40 metre motor yacht and plan the passages for the mornings.

Two honest paths. Shift to shoulder season - late September and October are genuinely open and often the best weather-to-value weeks of the Greek year.
