The yacht specs

8 specs that match the brief

  1. The fastest yacht we represent, refitted 2024: Mykonos by lunch from Athens, Milos the same afternoon if you want it. A Pershing's ride is the reason people charter one.

  2. Twenty-four metres of Ferretti refitted in 2023, four cabins for nine and a crew of four: the balance of speed, cabins and rate in the under-26 class.

  3. The Sunseeker sport ride, refitted 2024, for a party that wants the Cyclades passages done before lunch.

  4. A Riva at the entry of the fast class: 25 knots cruising and the marque's deck for a couple or a family of six.

  5. The lowest rate on this list with a 33 knot top speed: the fast week for a family of six on a budget the Index calls the motor floor.

  6. Twelve guests in six cabins at 25 knots: the fast yacht for a large group, refitted 2022.

  7. Fast, stabilised at anchor and under way, and twelve berths in six cabins; refitted 2026.

  8. The fastest of the 39 metre class we represent, stabilised at anchor and under way, eight crew for twelve guests.

Frequently asked

About this charter type

Is speed worth the fuel cost?

For a week that wants to cover ground, yes: Athens to Mykonos on day one, Paros and Milos in the afternoons, Hydra on the way home. For a relaxed seven nights inside one archipelago, no; a displacement hull at 12 knots does the same anchorages at a fraction of the diesel, and the APA shows it. The rate card is the same either way; the fuel is what changes, and it sits inside the 30 to 40% APA of a motor yacht.

How fast is Athens to Mykonos by motor yacht?

Alimos to Mykonos is 90 nautical miles on our distance table. ONE, cruising at 33 knots, does it in under three hours; MARY, SEA U or ALFA at 24 to 25 knots in about three hours forty-five; a displacement yacht such as KOKOMO NIGHTS or NORTHWIND II at 10 to 12 knots in seven to nine hours. That difference is a whole day of the week, which is the argument for the fast hull when the Cyclades are the point.

Is the ride comfortable at top speed?

Top speed is for the flat morning sea; nobody runs a Pershing at 41 knots into an afternoon Meltemi. The captains of the yachts above plan the long passages for the morning calm and cruise at the yacht's stated cruising speed, 23 to 33 knots depending on the hull, where the ride is settled. SUMMER FUN and PAREAKI II add stabilisers under way and at anchor; the smaller sport yachts rely on their hull and the timing.

How much does a fast motor yacht charter in Greece cost?

Per yacht per week before VAT and APA, from each yacht's own rate card: MARY EUR 17,500 to 19,900, SEA U EUR 21,000 to 24,000, ALFA EUR 29,900 to 31,500, M FIVE EUR 31,000 to 33,000, ONE EUR 45,000 to 49,000, SUMMER FUN EUR 45,000 to 65,000, CAN'T REMEMBER EUR 80,000 to 90,000, PAREAKI II EUR 98,000 to 115,000. Add VAT at 5.2 to 12% by the yacht's certification, APA of 30 to 40% of the base, at the top of that range for a fast week, and a customary 10 to 15% crew gratuity on the base.

Which fast yacht for a family of six?

MARY or SEA U: three cabins, 24 to 25 knots cruising, EUR 17,500 to 24,000 a week. Both are based around Athens, so the Saronic five-night week, Aegina 18 miles, Poros, Hydra, Spetses, embarks within days when the yacht is free, and a Cyclades week from Alimos reaches Kythnos, 45 miles, in under two hours.

Which fast yacht for twelve guests?

CAN'T REMEMBER at 25 knots, EUR 80,000 to 90,000; SUMMER FUN at 24 knots with stabilisers, EUR 45,000 to 65,000; PAREAKI II at 21 knots with stabilisers and eight crew, EUR 98,000 to 115,000. All three sleep twelve, all three are on our large-groups list.

Does speed matter for the Meltemi?

Yes, in two ways. A faster hull crosses the open stretches between the Cyclades before the wind builds after midday, and a larger, more powerful yacht carries the afternoon sea better, which is why the boats that end up in the Cyclades in August sit higher in the Index. For a family that would rather not race the wind at all, the Ionian and the Saronic are sheltered and the speed buys you nothing you need.

How far ahead should I book a fast motor yacht for July or August?

Six to twelve months on the Greek Charter Index. The eight named above are eight hulls, not a class, and the Pershing in particular is asked for by name; treat a fixed August week on ONE as a same-week decision when she is free. June and September hold availability closer in, 15 to 25% below peak on the same rate card.
