When to Visit Crete (Chania)
Crete has one of the longest charter seasons in Greek waters - late April to mid-November are all viable. The southern coast (Sfakia, Loutro, Agia Roumeli) is exposed to Africa-side weather and is best in September-October. The northern coast (Chania, Rethymno, Heraklion) is standard summer charter season. The west coast (Balos, Elafonisi) is meltemi-exposed in peak July-August but anchorages can be selected accordingly.
