Islands, by boat
Which Greek Island Has the Best Boat Trips?
The honest answer from a broker who writes weeks, not days: the best boat trip in Greece is the one where the boat is yours for the week.

Why a week beats a boat trip
Best suited for
- First-time visitors who were about to book a day trip
- Families who want the islands without the ferries
- Couples who want one quiet bay a night
- Anyone comparing a week in the Saronic with a week in the Cyclades
When the islands are at their best
June and September: warm sea, light wind, islands that are not full. July and the first three weeks of August bring the Meltemi to the Cyclades, which sends many of this house's clients to the Ionian or the Saronic in those weeks. Peak weeks for July and August 2027 are being contracted now, in the autumn of 2026; the five and six cabin yachts go first. Nine to fourteen months ahead for a peak week, six to nine for June and late September, three to four for May and October. Booking early buys first choice of yacht and week rather than a discount.
George's insider notes
- Delos is a morning, not a day: go at nine with your own tender from Rineia and be back aboard for lunch before the excursion boats arrive.
- Dokos has no village and no lights; it is the Saronic's answer to the people who ask for the Cyclades without the wind.
- In the Ionian, Antipaxos's beaches are empty before eleven and after five; a yacht at anchor gets both.
- The Cyclades week should run with the Meltemi, north to south, so the afternoon wind is behind you.
Frequently asked
Questions we get about Which Greek Island Has the Best Boat Trips?
Which Greek island has the best boat trips?
For a day: Mykonos to Delos and Rineia, Paros to Antiparos and Despotiko, Corfu to Paxos and Antipaxos, Athens to Hydra. For the best boat trip in Greece, take a crewed yacht for the week and have the islands at the hours the day boats never see.
Do you arrange boat trips by the day?
No. This house writes crewed charters of a week, with the five-night Saronic week from Athens as the shortest. Day trips exist in Greece through other operators, pay 24 percent VAT, and are a different product.
Which Greek islands can a yacht reach in a week from Athens?
In the Saronic: Aegina, Poros, Hydra, Dokos, Spetses, all within fifty nautical miles. In the Cyclades: Kea, Kythnos, Syros, Mykonos, Paros, Antiparos, Naxos, Sifnos, Milos, with Santorini at 130 miles best kept for a longer week.
Which Greek islands are best for a family boat week?
The Ionian: Corfu, Paxos, Antipaxos, Lefkada, Meganisi, Ithaca and Kefalonia, in calm, sheltered water with short legs and sandy anchorages.
Can I see Mykonos and Santorini and Corfu in one week?
No. Mykonos and Santorini are a Cyclades week from Athens; Corfu is an Ionian week from the west. Choose one sea.
How do I book a crewed week to the islands?
Send the month, the party and the islands you have in mind to George P. Biniaris, WhatsApp +1 786 798 8798 or george@georgeyachts.com; a written proposal with two or three yachts and a sample week reaches you within twenty-four hours.
