George's Inside Info
“MELITI is the yacht I keep for the guest who actually sails. She is the only Garcia 86 in existence, her sailing staff include offshore champions and Olympic participants, and her chef won Category A outright at the 2025 Mediterranean Yacht Show. Four crew for six guests is a ratio you normally only see on boats three times the price. Take her to the Cyclades in June with the Meltemi filling in behind you, ask the crew to actually race her one afternoon, and understand that she heels, which is the whole point. This is not a floating apartment.”

The Yacht in Detail
MELITI, and the only one of her kind
Garcia Yachts built one 86. This is her. That single fact is the beginning of everything interesting about MELITI, because a one-off is a boat somebody wanted badly enough to commission rather than choose from a brochure.
She is twenty six metres of bluewater monohull, built in 2004 and refitted in 2021, compliant with MCA standards, and finished inside in natural wood rather than the white gloss that has flattened so much of modern yachting into one look.
A crew who race, and a chef who won
This is the part I would not believe if it were not written into her own specification. Her sailing staff include offshore racing champions and participants in the Olympic Games. On a charter yacht that is close to unheard of, and it changes the character of a week completely: you are not being driven around the islands, you are sailing with people who do this at the top level.
And in 2025 her chef, George, took first place in Category A at the Mediterranean Yacht Show Chef's Competition. Not a placing. First.
Six guests, and why that is the point
She sleeps six in one master and two double cabins, each with its own bathroom, with a crew of four looking after them. That ratio, four crew for six guests, is what a large yacht does for twelve. Here it is pointed at half as many people.
She is a monohull and she heels. If that sentence worries you, she is the wrong boat and I will say so before you book, not after. If it is the reason you are reading this page, she may be the best week we can arrange for you.
