When to book
May through early October all work in the Ionian for catamaran charter. June and September are the peak family weeks: water 22-25°C, harbours not yet overrun, rates 15 to 25% below peak on the Greek Charter Index. July and August book 9-12 months ahead for Corfu catamarans. Late October is possible for hardier families but the thermal wind weakens after the 15th.

- Fly into Corfu airport (CFU) - direct flights from London, Manchester, most northern European hubs. Gouvia Marina is 15 minutes by taxi.
- Voutoumi Beach on Antipaxos is the Ionian's photo anchorage. Arrive by 11:00 - the day-charter boats arrive at 12:00.
- Lakka on Paxos has the best northern Paxos anchorage and a Mediterranean-mooring quay. Reserve quay space if you want to walk to dinner.
- Sivota (mainland) is technically a 'discovery week' anchorage: protected, sandy, three or four restaurants, no road tourism.
- Cross-border note: Albania visa-free for charter yachts but you check in/out at Saranda. Most catamaran weeks skip the Albanian leg.

The rate card does not change by ground. On the Greek Charter Index 2026, per yacht per week before VAT and APA: a crewed sailing catamaran of 12 to 16 metres EUR 17,000 to 22,000, 16 to 19 metres 18,900 to 48,000, 20 to 22 metres 31,500 to 43,500; power catamarans 21,000 to 90,000, and ARIVA, a Power 67 for ten, is based at Gouvia at EUR 34,000 to 48,000. A Corfu week saves on the delivery line and on fuel, because the Ionian legs are short, Corfu to Paxos 35 nautical miles.
Is Corfu the right base for a first catamaran charter?
Yes. Gouvia Marina is one of the most family-friendly charter bases in the Mediterranean. Direct flights to Corfu airport, 15-minute taxi to the boat, sheltered first-day cruising to Kassiopi or Sivota. The easiest start of any Greek charter destination.
What's the best 7-day Corfu catamaran itinerary?
Corfu (Gouvia) → Kassiopi → Sivota → Paxos (Lakka) → Antipaxos (Voutoumi) → Paxos (Loggos) → Corfu. 100-110 nm round trip, 15-20 nm per day, half the time anchored and swimming.
Can we visit Albania during the charter?
Possible. Saranda is 12 nm north of Corfu and accepts charter yachts. Requires advance customs notification through the broker. Most charterers skip Albania unless specifically interested.
