Catamaran in Paros
Catamaran Charter Paros
The family Cyclades charter. Stable in the Meltemi, shallow enough for the best Antiparos beaches, big enough for three couples.
Why catamarans win the Paros brief
Best suited for
- Two or three couples sharing one yacht for a Cyclades week
- Families with toddlers (flat water plus dual hulls equals no seasickness)
- Charterers who prioritise swim-anchorage access over restaurant proximity
- Repeat Cycladic visitors who've done Mykonos motor yacht (want a different format)
- Snorkelling and diving-focused weeks (shallow anchorages open underwater terrain)
When to book
June and September are the family-perfect Paros catamaran weeks: Meltemi mild, water 22-24°C, all the beaches still open. July and August book 9 months ahead, the Cyclades family-catamaran market is the most over-subscribed segment in Greek charter. May and early October the water cools (19-20°C) but yacht availability and pricing both improve materially.
George's insider notes
- Anchor at Soros on Antiparos (south coast) rather than the main bay: same water, no day-tripper crowd from Antiparos chora.
- Naoussa on Paros for dinner: the marina is small; anchor at Kolymbithres 1 nm east and tender in by sunset.
- Despotiko (uninhabited island west of Antiparos) is the Cyclades' best protected anchorage: sandy bottom, blue water, archaeological site ashore.
- Catamaran kids' setup: webbing on the lifelines is non-negotiable for children under 8. Brief the captain pre-charter.
- Antiparos is dry-cleaning-free, pack accordingly. Soft luggage only; the cabin hanging space is limited on catamarans.
Frequently asked
About catamaran charter paros
How much does a Paros catamaran charter cost?
Weekly rates €30-50K for 12-15m catamarans (sleeps 6-8), €60-100K for 16-20m luxury catamarans (sleeps 8-10). APA 30-35% on top; typical Paros catamaran week settles €50-80K all-in.
Why a catamaran over a monohull in the Cyclades?
Three reasons: stability in Meltemi (catamaran heels 2°, monohull heels 15°), shallow draft (access to better anchorages), and cabin layout (equal cabins for multi-couple groups). Monohulls are faster and more responsive under sail; choose based on whether comfort or performance wins for your group.
Can a catamaran reach Mykonos from Paros?
Yes, Paros to Mykonos is 30 nm (3.5 hours by catamaran). Most 7-day Paros catamaran weeks include 1-2 nights at Mykonos with the rest split between Antiparos, Naxos, and the Small Cyclades.
Where do we board?
Most Paros catamarans board at Parikia (the main town and ferry port). Some specific yachts base in Naoussa marina, confirm at booking. Paros airport (PAS) is 20 minutes from either.
