George's Inside Info
“IDYLLE gives you a main deck master on a steel Benetti, which is the layout families keep asking me for and few yachts under 40 metres have. She is slow and completely steady, so the week happens at anchor. She runs 59,900 to 75,000 euros per week.”
- George P. Biniaris, Managing Broker & IYBA Member
The Yacht in Detail
M/Y IDYLLE is a 36.8 metre Benetti from 1996, refitted in 2024, and she carries the layout families ask for most: a master cabin on the main deck. On a steel hull of 279 gross tons that master is a room rather than a cabin.
Ten Guests, Seven Crew
Five cabins take ten guests with a crew of seven. She is a slow boat, eleven knots of cruise and thirteen at the top, and steel: the combination that produces the steadiest week available at this length.
Decks Built for Standing Still
Expansive exterior decks, fully equipped, designed around a yacht that anchors rather than races. On IDYLLE the day happens at the anchorage, not on the passage, and everything about her is arranged for that.
The Week She Is Built For
Family charters in the Saronic and the near Cyclades. Guests who want the main deck master, the steel calm, and a crew of seven, and who are happy to trade eight knots of speed for all three.
A Sample 7-Day Route
What a week aboard M/Y IDYLLE can look like
Total: 207 NM
- Day 1· 22 NM
Athens (Alimos)→Cape Sounion
Two hours under way. Byron carved his name into one of the columns, and the sunset from the water is the reason to be here rather than in the car park.
- Day 2· 22 NM
Cape Sounion→Kythnos (Kolona)
Kolona is a sandbar with sea on both sides, and the boat lies to an anchor off it. Reckon on two hours from the last berth.
- Day 3· 33 NM
Kythnos (Kolona)→Sifnos (Vathi)
Three hours at her cruising speed. Vathi is a closed bay with a sand bottom, a pottery village ashore and holding you can trust.
- Day 4· 30 NM
Sifnos (Vathi)→Paros (Naoussa)
Naoussa for dinner and Kolymbithres for the afternoon, twenty minutes apart by tender. Three hours on passage at 11 knots.
- Day 5· 35 NM
Paros (Naoussa)→Serifos (Livadi)
Three hours under way. The chora sits straight above Livadi harbour, whitewash stacked up a rock face.
- Day 6· 32 NM
Serifos (Livadi)→Kea (Vourkari)
The first of the Cyclades and the closest to Athens, oak covered rather than bare rock. Reckon on three hours from the last berth.
- Day 7· 33 NM
Kea (Vourkari)→Athens (Alimos)
Three hours at her cruising speed. The run back up the coast, Athens on the bow, and the last night alongside.
Indicative only - every charter is shaped around your group, the wind, and the season.
