George's Inside Info

Project Steel is the conversion story I enjoy telling: a steel Bugari taken apart in 2019, stretched four metres, given a vertical bow and rebuilt inside, so you charter a 2020 boat wearing a shipwright's hull. With stabilisers at rest she is the stillest 34-metre I place at anchor - request the sundeck dinner off Poliegos and you will see why her guests rebook. Twelve berths, six crew, 55,000 to 67,000 euros per week: flagship scale without flagship arithmetic.

The Yacht in Detail

M/Y Project Steel is what happens when a steel-hulled Bugari is given a second life without a budget ceiling: a conversion completed in 2020 that added four metres, a new vertical bow, and an interior rebuilt to present-day superyacht standard. Twelve guests. Five cabins. Zero excuses.

The name is the story - a hull of real steel, the material of ships, reworked into one of the most distinctive profiles in Greek waters. She reads modern from the waterline up and rides with the settled weight only displacement steel gives.

Twelve Guests, Superyacht Logic

Five ensuite cabins take twelve guests; a crew of six - captain, chef, two stewardesses and two deckhands - runs the service. Zero-speed and underway stabilisers keep her still at anchor, which with her beam makes the aft deck feel like a terrace ashore.

The 2020 rebuild put the galley, systems and AV where a new boat would have them; frugal engines burning 130 litres an hour give her the range to wander and the quiet to sleep through.

Volume Where It Counts

Her sundeck runs the length a 34-metre earns - dining, bar and sun in one field of teak. The main-deck saloon opens aft for the long dinners; the platform launches a 70-horsepower RIB, jet ski and seabob for the day shift.

Where She Makes Sense

Project Steel is the twelve-guest week done with weight and stillness rather than speed: the Cyclades taken calmly, the party together at one table, the boat itself part of the conversation in every port.
