She is a Balance hull from Two Oceans Marine, quick for her size, and she keeps a flybridge while doing it, which almost no performance catamaran manages. Her chef took third in Category A Platinum at the 2024 Mediterranean Yacht Show, the senior category. Ten guests in five equal double cabins means no family gets the short straw. Take her across to the Dodecanese if you have the days, because she is one of very few boats in this fleet that can make that crossing feel short.”

SAMELI, built to sail properly
Most large charter catamarans are built to be a hotel that floats. SAMELI was built by Two Oceans Marine to the Balance design, and she was built to go. She is quick for a catamaran of her size, which is a sentence that sounds like marketing until you are aboard on a reaching breeze and the islands start arriving earlier than the plan said.
What makes her unusual is that she does this while carrying a flybridge. Performance catamarans normally give that up. Twenty three metres, ten guests in five double cabins each with its own bathroom, and a crew of four in their own quarters.
The chef, and the show that matters
Her chef, Eleutheria, took third place in Category A Platinum at the 2024 Mediterranean Yacht Show Chef's Competition. Platinum is the senior category. Third in it is a serious result, and it is judged by the industry rather than by a marketing department.
Living aboard
Her windows sit close to the water, which changes the saloon completely: you are level with the sea rather than looking down at it from a first floor. Twin 240 horsepower Yanmars for when the wind is absent, a draft of one metre eighty, and a tender list that reads like a small watersports centre, including a Seabob and two sea scooters.
She is the boat for ten people who want the week to move. If your idea of a charter is three days in the same bay, she is more boat than you need and I will tell you so.

Two and a half hours at her cruising speed. The Temple of Poseidon stands on the headland above the anchorage, and it has been the last sight of Attica since 440 BC.
- Day 2· 22 NM
Cape Sounion→Kythnos (Kolona)
The hot springs at Loutra run into the sea, so you can find the temperature you want by moving a metre. Two and a half hours on passage at 10 knots.
- Day 3· 45 NM
Kythnos (Kolona)→Paros (Naoussa)
Four and a half hours under way. Naoussa for dinner and Kolymbithres for the afternoon, twenty minutes apart by tender.
- Day 4· 18 NM
Paros (Naoussa)→Mykonos (Ornos)
Anchor off Ornos rather than fighting for the new marina, and take the tender in for dinner. Reckon on just under two hours from the last berth.
- Day 5· 19 NM
Mykonos (Ornos)→Syros (Ermoupoli)
Two hours at her cruising speed. The capital of the Cyclades, neoclassical rather than whitewashed, and lived in all year.

Syros (Ermoupoli)→Kea (Vourkari)
Kea is where an Athens week turns into a Cyclades one, and the water changes colour on the way in. Four hours on passage at 10 knots.
- Day 7· 33 NM
Kea (Vourkari)→Athens (Alimos)
Three and a half hours under way. Back on her berth by the afternoon, so the last evening is dinner in town rather than a passage.
