Motor yacht in Corfu
Motor Yacht Charter Corfu
The Ionian motor-yacht week. Sheltered passages, Paxos for lunch, Albania across the channel.
Why a motor yacht in Corfu reads quietly luxurious
Best suited for
- UHNW families summering in Corfu villas adding a yacht week
- Multi-generational charters with grandparents on board (sheltered cruising)
- Discrete UHNW principals avoiding Mykonos visibility
- First-time Greek motor-yacht charterers wanting the easiest cruising water
- European royals and aristocrats with Corfu family ties
When to book
June and September are the discretionary UHNW Corfu months: peak villa-set season, weather perfect, August Russian/Italian charter crowd not yet arrived (June) or already left (September). July and August book 12-18 months ahead; the Greek shipping families lock in their dates two summers in advance. May and October are possible at materially discounted rates.
George's insider notes
- Gouvia Marina is the main boarding base. NAOK in Corfu town for shorter stays. Brief George on which works for your transfer logistics.
- Paleokastritsa anchorage on the west coast: protected, monastery overlooking, the Rolls-Royce of Corfu anchorages.
- Sivota mainland anchorages (Mourtos, Mega Ammos) are the 'Caribbean of Greece': pure white sand, turquoise water. Day-trip from Corfu, 30 nm.
- Antipaxos Voutoumi for lunch is the Ionian's set piece. Arrive 10:30, swim, lunch on board at noon, leave before the day-boats arrive.
- Corfu Old Town for dinner: the captain will dock at the Old Port for the evening. Walk to Bellini's or Klimataria. Greek wine selection here is the best in the Ionian.
Frequently asked
About motor yacht charter corfu
How much does a Corfu motor yacht charter cost?
Weekly rates €50K for 22-metre motor yachts and €250K+ for 40-metre superyachts. The Corfu-based fleet skews larger and more classic than the Cycladic equivalents; typical week settles €100-200K base before APA and VAT.
How does a Corfu motor yacht week compare to Mykonos?
Quieter, more sheltered, more family-oriented, more discreet. Corfu is where UHNW principals charter when they want zero Mykonos visibility. The yachts are larger, the anchorages are deeper, the dinners are villa-private rather than club-public.
Can we cross to Italy or Albania during the charter?
Possible. Brindisi (Italy) is 100 nm west of Corfu, Saranda (Albania) is 12 nm north. Both require advance customs notification. Most Corfu motor yacht weeks stay within Greek waters.
Which is better for August: Corfu or Cycladic?
Corfu in August. Same weather, half the crowd-pressure, materially more anchorage privacy. Cyclades in August is for the energy and the scene; Corfu is for the calm and the discretion. Different briefs, same calendar.
