When to book
May through October all work in the Ionian. June and September are the sweet spots: water warm enough to swim, wind reliable, prices 25-30% below July/August peak. July and August the thermal still blows but harbours fill; book 6-9 months ahead. The Ionian sails later into October than the Aegean: thermal lasts until mid-October most years.

- Fly into Preveza airport (PVK), not Athens. Preveza is 30 minutes from Lefkada Marina by taxi. Athens transfer adds 5 hours.
- Lefkada Town is connected to the mainland by a floating bridge that opens hourly. Time provisioning runs accordingly.
- The Meganisi anchorages (Spilia, Atherinos, Vathy) fill by 17:00 in July. Arrive earlier or anchor in less-popular Vourliotis.
- Fiscardo on Kefalonia for dinner is the Ionian must-do, but it gets crowded. Anchor in Foki Bay 1 nm south and tender in.
- Loggos on Paxos has 7 restaurants. The best one (Vasilis) takes no reservations: walk over by 19:30 or eat at midnight.
