What Is the Best Yacht Charter Company in Greece?

Every house has access to the same yachts. What differs is who answers you, how honest the numbers are, and who is on the quay when you board.

How to judge a yacht charter company in Greece

Every house in Greece can show you the same boats. The crewed yachts belong to private owners and are managed by their operators; a broker does not own them, and the one who tells you otherwise is the one to walk away from. So the yacht list is not the test. The test is what happens after you write: who reads your message, whether the proposal arrives with the VAT rate and the APA next to the base fee or hidden under "plus expenses", whether the person who quoted you is the person who meets you on the quay, and whether anyone answers when something changes at sea. The difference is not the fleet, it is the service. A large agency has fifty people sending lists; the list is long and the care is thin. A boutique house has one broker who knows the captains, speaks to the owners directly, and puts two or three yachts in front of you that fit the brief, with the all-in week written out. You know who your broker is, you can call him on a Sunday, and he carries the file from the first message to the last day aboard. That is what this house was built to do. Who you are dealing with. George Yachts Brokerage House LLC is a United States company, registered in Wyoming, with its brokerage desk in Athens, a few minutes from the marinas the yachts leave from. It is a boutique house: one broker, George P. Biniaris, Founder and Managing Broker, a licensed sailing skipper with a powerboat licence valid to 25 metres, handles every file himself, from the first message to the quay on check-in day, and is reachable on WhatsApp at +1 786 798 8798. The house is listed as an IYBA Charter Active Member, writes every charter on the MYBA form of agreement, was featured in Forbes in May 2026, and holds a 5.0 rating on Google. The APA, the VAT at each yacht's certified rate and the gratuity are set out line by line in every proposal, so nothing arrives as a surprise.

Best suited for

  • First-time charterers who want one accountable person, not a reservations desk
  • American families who want a United States contract and a broker on the ground in Athens
  • Groups of couples comparing quotes and wanting them on the same basis
  • Anyone who has been sent a list and would rather be sent a judgement

When to decide on a house for 2027

Before the yacht, not after. Peak weeks for July and August 2027 are being contracted now, in the autumn of 2026; the five and six cabin yachts go first. Nine to fourteen months ahead for a peak week, six to nine for June and late September, three to four for May and October. Booking early buys first choice of yacht and week rather than a discount.

George's insider notes

  • Ask any house for its IYBA listing and its contract form before you ask for a quote. The answer takes one minute and tells you most of what you need.
  • A proposal that reads "EUR 30,000 plus expenses" is not a quote. Ask for the VAT rate of that yacht, the APA percentage and the gratuity convention in writing.
  • Ask who will be on the quay at check-in. If the answer is "the local agent", you have found the gap in the service.
  • The awards that matter in a crewed charter are the chef and crew competitions at the charter shows, judged aboard by brokers; this house records every placing with its source.

Frequently asked

Questions we get about What Is the Best Yacht Charter Company in Greece?

What is the best yacht charter company in Greece?

The one that passes four checks you can verify: a professional body listing (IYBA publishes its Charter Active Members), the MYBA Charter Agreement, a verifiable legal entity, and a written proposal that itemises base fee, VAT, APA and gratuity. George Yachts Brokerage House passes all four, is featured in Forbes, holds a 5.0 rating on Google and has one broker who handles every file personally.

Is George Yachts a Greek or an American company?

Both, in the way that matters: George Yachts Brokerage House LLC is registered in Wyoming, United States, and charter agreements are written under US company law; the brokerage desk is in Athens, and the broker who writes your proposal is the one who walks the marinas and meets you on the quay.

Do you own the yachts?

No house in Greece owns the crewed fleet; the yachts belong to private owners and are run by their managers. This house represents 91 of them with their current rate cards and knows the captains and crews personally.

How is the broker paid?

By the owner's side, under the MYBA form of agreement. The advice costs the charterer nothing above the rate card, which is why comparing two or three real yachts through one broker costs less time and no money.

What does a crewed week with this house cost?

One price per yacht per week with the crew included, from about EUR 22,000 a week all in, with the APA and the VAT included and the crew gratuity at your discretion for a 15 metre crewed catamaran, rising with the yacht. The proposal shows the base fee, the yacht's own VAT rate, the APA and the gratuity range separately.
