From Athens the Saronic Gulf (Hydra, Spetses, Poros, Aegina) is reachable for shorter 3-5 day charters. The central Cyclades (Kea, Kythnos, Sifnos, Serifos, Milos) sit 3-6 hours sail south. The Sporades (Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos) are reachable in 8-10 hours direct. For 10-14 day charters, the Cyclades plus a southern Peloponnese return loop adds extraordinary variety.

When to book

Athens charter season runs mid-April to late October. June and September are the sweet spots for UHNW charters: warm water, quieter anchorages, 25-35% off August peak rates. July-August is peak — book 9-12 months ahead. Shoulder months (May, October) suit charters where weather flexibility is acceptable.

Alimos marina is 25 minutes from the airport; Lavrio is 60 minutes. For same-day boarding, Alimos is the easier choice.
Athens-Hydra is 3 hours under power, 5 hours under sail. Plan Day 1 as a half-day positioning leg to a Saronic anchorage.
The Saronic loop (Hydra-Spetses-Poros) is the gentlest 4-night charter in Greek waters. Perfect for first-time charterers or short weeks.
